Free/Lower-Cost Internet Services For Families w/Students in SLPS

By Press Release - DLF Media March 26, 2024

March 26, 2024 - Access to the internet has become increasingly vital in today's digital age, serving as a gateway to education. Recognizing the urgent need for reliable service, the Education Foundation of St. Lucie County and St. Lucie Public Schools are taking proactive steps to make internet access more accessible and affordable for those in need.

Through a partnership with St. Lucie County & Comcast, we are able to offer multiple options for qualifying families with students enrolled a public school in St. Lucie County. This service is geared to those who have at least one child who receives free or reduced school lunches through the National School Lunch Program. Other criteria include being located where Comcast offers internet service.

There are three choices of service available for families that qualify:

  1. If you do not currently have internet access, you may be able to receive Comcast internet free of charge.

  2. If you currently have a regular Comcast plan, and wish to keep your current level of service, you may qualify for a $30 monthly credit.

  3. If you currently have internet with Comcast through the federal Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which is expiring soon, you may be able to continue with free service if you switch to this plan.
