St. Lucie Earth Day Festival Hosts Sustainable Arts Fair, April 20th

March 5, 2024

The 20th Annual St. Lucie Earth Day Festival will take place Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Oxbow Eco-Center, celebrating creativity and showcasing art highlighting environmental issues, sustainability and the natural world. Guests can enjoy live music and performances, interact with more than 70 exhibitors, get up close with wildlife, grab a bite from food trucks, have fun with face painting and so much more.

The public is invited to be part of the festivities and raise awareness of the impacts of trash on the environment by submitting art for the Sustainable Arts Fair within the festival. Art pieces can be created by individuals or teams. All submissions are due Saturday, April 6th.

The Sustainable Arts Fair features four categories:

  • 2-Dimensional (illustration, painting, photography, graphic art, etc.)
  • 3-Dimensional (sculptural)
  • Wearable (art that can be worn on a live model)
  • Literary (poetry, stories, songs, etc.)

Additional details on submission guidelines and registration can be found at www.StLucieEarthDay.com or by calling the Oxbow Eco-Center at 772-785-5833.

Art is an amazing educational tool with the power to evoke emotions and create positive change. Innovative art created from materials destined for the landfill or recycling brings awareness to the vast amounts of waste generated and inspires everyone to be part of the solution.

This year, St. Lucie County celebrates the festival’s 20th anniversary, honoring years of community pride and commitment to St. Lucie’s residents and natural resources. The festival brings together artists, conservation organizations, environmental agencies, educational institutions, community services and heritage elements to celebrate the natural world.

The Oxbow Eco-Center is home to the Environmental Education and Community Outreach Division of St. Lucie County’s Environmental Resources Department. Located at 5400 NE St. James Drive in Port St. Lucie, the Oxbow is an environmental learning center situated on a 225-acre nature preserve.
